Modelling

MDL was the first company that sold modeling software commercially. The first product was called ChemLab. MDL was for some time the exclusive distributor of the famous Allinger force field programs. In 1986 MDL abandoned this area. When the 3D searching capabilities were introduced it became necessary to provide good looking 3D representations and possibilities to calculate 3D structures from 2D drawings. Rasmol was introduced and SCULPT.

SCULPT is a full fledged modeling package and is a good tool for the chemist who is not the modeling specialist.
